Flying above the Thames River in London seems like an expensive experience, right? For only a small fee on the regular public transit card (an Oyster card), you and your group travel squad can take a gondola ride from one side of the river to the other. Called the Emirates Air Line, this snazzy way to travel brings passengers from the North Greenwich area to the Royal Docks. Both areas are full of historic landmarks, shopping and great eats. I went on a clear, but overcast morning and could see all the way to Central London. Other days when the sun is setting and the fog sets in can offer spectacular views too. It’s days like this I love being a travel blog writer – my commute is always different!
Have a great weekend wanderers!
I think this was a very good tip. I had never even heard of the gondola. I would like to make a suggestion though, one that is often made by smartphone videographers. Hold the phone in landscape mode rather than portrait. It makes for a much more viewable finished product.
Thanks Arnie! I know better than holding the phone at the wrong angle and completely flaked on this one 🙂 But I still thought the clip was too fun not to share!
This is terrifying but so good to know haha. We did an amazing gondola ride in Taipei so a great find to add to our list of must tries!
This would make me a bit nervous but what an amazing experience
It was definitely high but the views wer eincredible!
