Review: Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Smartphone featuring Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4

By November 24, 2015August 29th, 20245 Comments

It was high time for an upgrade. My older smartphone wasn’t holding up as well as I wanted and I needed something fast and reliable while traveling. In comes The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to help ease my technology woes. The compact size with larger-than-life screen works well as a phone on vacation for staying connected, but also can be handled for entertaining the little ones.

Review: Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with high screen resolution

Best Feature Ever

I am in love with my DLSR camera, but I might run away and have an affair with the Galaxy Note 5 after I used its incredible camera. This phone has a 16 megapixel camera, a higher resolution than half the fancy traditional cameras out there. Paired with some of Android’s great free apps for editing and sharing, you’ll look like a pro in no time. It gives you one less thing to worry about losing as well, because now you carry a camera, phone and tablet all in one.

After you take all your photos and videos, there’s 32 gigs of space to store everything, not to mention another 4 gigs of RAM for fast upload and usage time.

So in relation to the camera, my favorite feature is the massive 5.7 inch screen. The resolution is amazing. It’s also covered with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4, which dramatically improves protection against drops and is Corning’s toughest glass yet. The last thing we want while on the road is worrying about a damaged phone, so perks of a device like this that helps protect my accident-prone self is a huge plus.

Practical Use

Yes photo taking is awesome, so is playing games and movies. But the smartphone offers much more in terms of helping you have the best trip yet. The battery is not removable, but it’s simple to charge up fast via the included charge cord or a wireless platform that is sold separately. I had the phone running continually and still had a little juice left at the end of the day.

The stylus is a unique touch, in case you want to do some detailed editing, note taking or simply type a bit faster on the screen. Kids can use it too for playing special games that require penmanship practice or letter work.

Sometimes I found the size of the smartphone to be larger than I wanted, but when doing anything but making calls I was thankful for the large Gorilla Glass 4 protected screen and resolution, as I tend to use my phone for work, photos and streaming. It was fine for calls as well, especially with headphones.

We are lucky these days to have a fantastic safety net while traveling with our families to never get lost and have a way to communicate during emergencies worldwide. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is ideal for wandering broods who want fast connection, flashy graphics and one of the best cameras for a smartphone on the market.

While I’m an Apple girl, this phone looks good enough to consider switching! Love the camera sounds amazing! Great review!

Wow! I need a screen like that. I am always dropping my phone at work and have had to get it replaced numerous times. Something more durable seems like a good answer to my phones troubles!

I was really amazed by both the quality of the display and the camera. I have several friends with this device, and their pictures always come out amazingly. When you take a picture, you always go and look at it on the screen afterwards to make sure it came out – and on this phone the display is simply wonderful. Good stuff Eileen!

Great video! It’s tough for casual travelers to take bulky cameras along for trips. The camera quality totally sold me!
