Traveling to Europe is often associated with first-class, luxury travel. And, often, luxury travel doesn’t exactly scream bringing a whole troupe along. But why not? Your group can have the trip of a lifetime—European-style.

There are so many destinations to choose from when traveling in Europe. With many small countries in close proximity, and a European Union that makes it even easier to hop from country to country, you can see quite a bit in a short time. When you travel in a group, it is especially exciting to opt out of short flights and take the train instead. It may take a little longer, but you will see so much of the European countryside on the way.

What to Do in London

While traveling in England, London is a must-see. There is so much to do and everyone will love it. Certain aspects of the city as known worldwide—you must stay at least long enough to see Big Ben, the London Eye, The National Gallery, Buckingham Palace and the changing of the guards. The Tower Bridge is another classic stop when determining what your group will do in London. There are also endless museums to visit, including the British Museum, the Royal Air Force Museum and the London Transport Museum, which displays a collection of buses, trains and subway cars.

Luxury Travel in France

When you think about luxury European travel, France has got to be the first place that comes to mind. Known as the City of Lights, Paris is an elegant destination with a lot to see. When you’re wondering what to do in Paris, consider enlightening the group with the magical history of the city. Everywhere you turn, there is something to learn.

Outside of the city, France has plenty more to show. Stop by Château d’Angers or Notre Dame de Reims to see some spectacular French architecture. If you prefer to spend your day among tranquil ponds, water lilies and tulips, visit Monet’s garden in Giverny. His home is also available to tour, offering a glimpse into the laid back lifestyle in the French countryside.

Fun-Filled Activities in Italy

Italy is full of places for dream vacations. For some added romance, visit Rome, where you can combine the spirit of love with beautiful fountains, the history of the Colosseum and delicious pasta. If you’re looking for a more rustic trip, head out to the Italian countryside. The sprawling green hills and bright blue sky will make you feel as if you’ve stepped into a painting. Find an old farmhouse to stay at and you just might make friends with a donkey!

Don’t forget that Italy is right on the Mediterranean Sea. Hike to the top of a volcano on an island off the coast of Sicily for a sensational view you won’t soon forget.

Other European Spots for Group Travel

While England, France and Italy are some of the most traveled-to countries in the world, don’t count out other places in Europe or you may miss out on the trip of a lifetime. Whether you’re traveling in winter or summer, a stop in Amsterdam is a must, as the gorgeous city filled with canals and friendly faces. For some authentic Spanish flavor, visit Seville or travel further south to the beach town of Lagos in Portugal to ride horses and jump off of staggering cliffs into the sea. Another favorite for groups is Greece, where you can see the Acropolis as well as where the Olympics first began. In Germany, learn about the Berlin Wall or visit the Klimahaus in Bremerhaven to learn about the effects of climate change.

Some less-traveled countries can have unique treasures to behold. Experience some true adventure in Scotland as you learn to fly falcons and shoot a bow-and-arrow. For some medieval history lessons, stop by Krakow, Poland, where you can sneak a peak at medieval shoes, rings and more. Find yourself sandwiched between mountains and a shimmering blue lake in Salzburg, Austria where you can catch a very famous show—The Sound of Music.
