Straddling that fine line between family-friendly perks and luxurious ambiance, the Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort in Curacao has created a symphony of tropical delights to experience together in the sunny southern Caribbean.

The lobby can be quickly overlooked at resorts, but it’s worth spending time lounging in this open air space. Kids zoomed past giggling while parents sipped a welcome cocktail or checked e-mails. Seeing such a lively environment right from the beginning, enveloped in incredible dark wood and a massive coral chandelier overhead, was memorable.

With a location a little offset form the main city of Willemstad, it provides a sanctuary along the water for prime beach spots and a secluded getaway. For a change of pace, choose from three resort pools close to all the action.

Most balconies have big iron railings so there is no need to worry about the little ones, and each is equipped with big baths to wash off after a day on the beach. They’re happy to accommodate your little trio or an entire family reunion. Ask and you shall receive, as every element of the resort is designed for you to have a great time.

Indulge in the resort a la carte or splurge on the all-inclusive package. Meals, drinks, activities, pool access and much more all are a part of this exciting vacation option—simply strap on a VIP bracelet and your crew is good to go.

The staff is wonderful. Boasting bilingual (and trilingual!) skills, it’s easy to express your needs and feel comfortable. Guests also hail from all over the globe, so kids can meet some new international friends, especially the Dutch, German and Caribbean crowd. Many families from the U.S. and Canada are also starting to discover this gem of an island for its offerings of tranquility, bursting with pops of color and style.

Now, onto the kids. Camp Arawak is just for them, with sessions in the morning, afternoon and all day. Events are planned for various age groups from 3-12 years old. Finish up that summer reading book you’ve been putting off while your brood goes nuts with other wild wanders trying out beach crafts, cave exploring and snorkeling. But make sure you make memories first with the kids and try these ventures out with them yourself too!

The Santa Barbara welcomes you to relax and simply soak up paradise.
