At 7:00 a.m. my family and I hopped the bus to an Ecuadorian town in the rainforest called Mindo.
When we got to our hostel we checked in and took a walk around town. We were getting hungry, so we stopped in at a pizza place called “El Tigrillo”. They had a nice brick oven and they made really good pizza.
The next morning we got up and went on a cable car where we could hike to a waterfall. There were lots of birds and butterflies along the way. It took us 3 hours to hike there and back. We even saw a toucan.
As soon as we got back we went to a butterfly garden where there were beautiful owl butterflies and blue morphos that landed on us. After eating a chocolate bar that was made in Mindo we packed up and headed back home.

I am so glad I came across this website. I love seeing children write about their adventures. I encourage my kids to record their special moments, even if it is in our own backyard. Travel opens hearts and eyes – thank you for this platform.
