K-West Spa & Hotel: A Hidden Residential Gem in London, UK

By April 23, 2019August 31st, 20242 Comments

A massive king-sized bed you’d need a pole vault to get across. A relaxing in-house spa where you gaze up at twinkling multi-colored lights as you bath in perfect temperature water. Delectable food that’s clearly made by chefs who know their stuff.

You will get all of this when you stay at the K-West Spa & Hotel in the Shepherd’s Bush neighborhood of London.

Nestled at the end of a beautiful residential street, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of west London, K-West both promises and delivers on hosting you in a hidden oasis where you can recharge and relax.

From Way Back When

For you music history buffs, this location was known as the BBC Recording Studio Kensington House in the 70s and 80s and music legends such as David Bowie, Bob Marley, and more have recorded in that building. Legends walked the great halls of what’s now a 200-room luxury hotel with music-themed paintings everywhere that pay homage to the building’s purpose prior to being in the hospitality industry.

The K West Digs

I stayed in the embassy suite (now known as a studio) and let me tell you – that room was larger than most flats in London!

There was a massive spacious bed, a huge curved smart TV, sitting nook with it’s own swivel TV, beautiful living room, big closet with a safe, two tablets that you can use to find out more information about the hotel or even order room service, mini bar, and a bathroom equipped with a rain shower head (along with some pretty nice toiletries). The hotel has also been refurbished within the last 5 years so everything is very up to date.

Everything you need is in this hotel.

All that & a Bag of Chips

A spa, nail bar, hair salon, gym, a library sitting room, gourmet restaurant (the Studio Bar), meeting rooms, and even afternoon high tea. The vibe of the hotel is very much an urban oasis crossed with edgy music chic. The food at Studio Bar was seriously on point. I dined there for both dinner and breakfast and was never disappointed. You can clearly tell the food is made to order with fresh ingredients and a creative execution.

The spa was so calming. I could’ve easily spent a full day in there.  Awarded ‘Best Spa in London’ at the Good Spa Guide Awards 2015 and winner of a World Luxury Spa Award, the spa at K-West has a variety of hot & cold pools, sauna and steam rooms, and even a snow room (exactly what it sounds like).

The spa follows a Finnish model where you go from hot to cold environments for good health. My absolute favorite part is the sparkling ceiling above the flotation tank. You could truly lay there forever gazing up as the colors change.

The staff at the hotel is beyond friendly and helpful – always available in case you need anything.

In the End

Prices start from £109 per room per night, and the K Suites are from £540 per night including VAT. Spa packages are also available and include overnight accommodation and treatments.

I would absolutely stay at the hotel again for their kind service, great food, calming spa, and plush rooms. A+ all the way!
